BHS presented with highest Performance Excellence Network honor

BHS was honored today by The Performance Excellence Network (PEN)—formerly the Minnesota Council for Quality—with the 2012 Minnesota Performance Excellence Award, Excellence Level, during PENworks 2013: The ROI of Excellence, at the Earle Brown Heritage Center, Minneapolis.
The award, which is based on the Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence, is designed to help organizations assess their processes, determine areas of improvement and put a plan into place to drive improvement.

The Benedictine Health System’s 2012 annual report, Milestones, was honored for excellence with a silver award in the 2013 Aster Awards, a national medical marketing competition.
The Aster Awards is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today and Creative Images, Inc.

The Performance Excellence Network (PEN), formerly the Minnesota Council for Quality, has awarded Duluth-based Benedictine Health System (BHS) with the 2012 Minnesota Performance Excellence Award, Excellence Level. The award, which is centered on the Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence, is designed to help organizations assess their processes, determine areas of improvement and put a plan into place to drive improvement.
This is the first time since 1997 that PEN has named any organization in its three-state service area an award at the Excellence Level.
